It is designed for cost-conscious users needing to remain securely connected even in the most remote area. The Thuraya XT-LITE enables users to make phone calls and send SMS in satellite mode in more than 160 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
The XT-LITE does not support FAX and data (GmPRS) service. It is not compatible with the docker FDU-XT. Unfortunately, the volume cannot be set as loud as with the XT-Pro.
Additional features include: Address book, alarms, calculator, calendar, call logs, conference calls, contact groups, speed dialing, stopwatch and world time.
The Thuraya XT-LITE features GPS-navigation, which allows you to create and manage waypoints. These can be used to navigate from a fixed location to various waypoints, showing the distance and direction to each. In addition you can send your coordinates by SMS to another person to inform them about your location.
For telephone usage you need a Thuraya SIM-card too.
