We generally ship via UPS Standard. Shipping costs are calculated based on what is known as volumetric weight: For large but lightweight packages, not only the actual weight is taken into account, but also the volume, because bulky packages take up more space during transport.
The volumetric weight is calculated using the following formula:
(Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ 5000 = volumetric weight in kg
This is compared to the actual weight—the higher of the two values is the volumetric weight and determines the price tier.
Calculation example: Shipping to Germany, package 40×30×20 cm, actual weight = 3 kg. Volumetric weight = (40×30×20)/5000 = 4.8 kg. The volumetric weight is the higher value and determines the shipping costs, i.e., the “0–5 kg” tier.
Extended Areas and Remote Areas: UPS classifies certain ZIP code areas as “Extended Area” or “Remote Area,” such as remote regions and islands, which incur additional transportation costs. For these areas, we charge a surcharge on top of the base rate for the respective weight tier (see the amounts listed for each shipping zone below). We’ll automatically show you whether your ZIP code is affected in the shopping cart as soon as you’ve entered your shipping address.

Self-Collection and Export
Self-collection of goods is possible by arrangement.
If you collect the goods from us and export them yourself to a country outside the EU (third-country territory), we may be able to refund the VAT under certain conditions: We initially charge the VAT in the form of a deposit. We provide you with pre-filled forms to present to customs. The export must take place in the context of non-commercial travel and within 3 months of purchasing the goods. The exporting party must be resident in the third-country territory. Once all conditions are met and we receive the customs-stamped documents back, we will refund the deposit to your account. Complete information can be found under the keyword “VAT exemption for export supplies in non-commercial travel” (Umsatzsteuerbefreiung für Ausfuhrlieferungen im nichtkommerziellen Reiseverkehr), for example on the website of the German Federal Ministry of Finance.
