The Thuraya XT-LITE enables users to make phone calls and send SMS in satellite mode in more than 160 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
The XT-LITE does
– not support FAX
– not support data (GmPRS) service
– GPS position as text message can not be sent to an email address only to phone no.
– is not compatible with the docker FDU-XT.
– the volume cannot be set as loud as with the XT-PRO
Additional features include: Address book, alarms, calculator, calendar, call logs, conference calls, contact groups, speed dialing, stopwatch and world time.
The Thuraya XT-LITE features GPS-navigation, which allows you to create and manage waypoints. These can be used to navigate from a fixed location to various waypoints, showing the distance and direction to each. In addition you can send your coordinates by SMS to another person (phone no. only) to inform them about your location.
For telephone usage you need a Thuraya SIM-card too.
